Tom and I wrote this song in 2010. Then life happened for five years! When we were picking songs to record, Tom just couldn’t shake the thought that this song needed to be recorded. Although I loved the lyrics and melody, I resisted. But, Tom and Clément outvoted me. On the first day of recording, we were playing this song so the drummer, Brandon Husken, and the bass player, Takaski Iio, could get familiar with it. We originally recorded it more like a ballad and I just kept saying, “I love this song but I am so bored singing it.” So, Brandon and Takashi decided to have a little fun with it and the pop/rock feel was born!! And the next day we were graced with the incredible guitar playing of Chris Freeman and Tom on the Rhodes. The song took on a whole new meaning—Heb. 4:16- Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
